"What would you do?"

Recently I missed a flight by about 4 minutes. So I had to hang around an airport for about 4 hours, until the next available flight. Being late meant that I wouldn’t get home until after midnight which definitely wasn’t my first choice because I had an hour-long radio interview early the next morning.

So I was a little upset with myself as I sat in the airport, going over in my mind all of the things that I should have done, but didn’t, in order to get to the airport on time. I was pretty rough on myself and started feeling a little down…

…until I talked with my wife. I groused about my negligence, the delay in getting home, and the uncertainty of an available seat on the connecting flight. Then she said, "But honey, you always land on your feet. God sees to it so just do what you tell everyone else to do—listen to life."

And I did, much more humble than before our conversation, and sat down, turned on my laptop, and wrote this story to share with you. So today when you make a mistake like I did, don’t be so hard on yourself. Do what I did—land on your feet with God’s help, and listen to wife, I mean, life today.
