"What did your mother say?"

What are some things you just can’t imagine your mother ever saying? Would your mother ever say, “Let’s eat dessert first tonight and leave off the broccoli, okay?”

Or, “How on earth can you see the TV sitting so far back? Move up closer.”

Or, “Sure, sweetheart, bring home any dog you want to and I’ll be more than happy to take care of him for you.”

Would your mother ever say something like, “Well, if Laura’s mother said it’s okay by her, then of course you can go. That’s good enough for me!”

Or, “You know, curfew is just kind of a guideline, a target time to shoot for. Don’t get too hung up on it. This is a home, not a prison.”

Or, “Look, how many times do I have to tell you? When you don’t have a tissue, just use your sleeve.”

There are some things you can’t imagine your mother saying. I guess that’s what makes your mother the woman you love.
