"Do you ever just pray to make it through the day?"
Our daughter brought me a print advertisement for a popular clothing line from a magazine. The ad features a young man in a church setting, a beautiful stained glass window with sunlight streaming in on him; gorgeous flowers all around with candelabras glowing. He is kneeling, with his hands folded, on a prayer bench, only it’s not just a prayer bench. It’s a combination prayer bench and treadmill, so he’s running while praying, his eyes cast upward toward heaven. The prayer bench/treadmill is called a "Pray Runner."
The caption at the bottom of the ad reads, "live fast."
Do you ever feel like you’re living so fast that you that you have to do about ten things at once? Like you’re on a treadmill, running and running and running but getting nowhere fast? And you have to pray just to make it through the day? So you do that on the treadmill, too?
Yes, the temptation is there to multi-task everything, but if you do nothing else today—just pray while you pray so you can listen to God and make a life.
