The holidays are really rolling in on us, aren’t they? And if you’re not careful, they’ll roll right over you and you’ll wonder where they went when you wake up on January 1, 2010.

That’s why it’s so important to listen to your life and make a life, not just a living during the hurry-up-and-get-it-done busyness of the holiday season. A mother of a ten-year old boy reminded me recently of the importance of listening to life and doing what you love in life. Her son is obsessed with football. It’s all he wants to watch on TV. He talks about it constantly. He practically sleeps with a football in his hand. So she asked him why he loves football so much.

He said, “Well Mom, I love the game. I want to have fun. I want to be the best. I want to win. I want to celebrate.”

What a wonderful attitude! You can take it to your workplace, your home, your relationships, and anywhere else you want. Love life. Have fun in life. Be the best you can be. Win at life. And celebrate life as you listen to life and make a life, not just a living, especially during the holidays.
